BOTrader,

Invaluable insights! Thank you for taking the time to explain it!!! Which tick mark do you use to get the buy/sell volume chart?

I heard about large block trades. How do you detect them? I often see large block transaction at out of the money immediately after the market is closed. Are these company by-backs? Options purchase? Thanks in advance.

The net volume for the NYSE is VOLD. For the NASDAQ it is VOLDQ. Depending on the charting platform you may need to put a $ or a . in front of the ticker symbol.

For me I will only trade the direction in which the indexes are trading. SO I am not looking for a sector to perform well. If the market does break down I will be trading the downside in the market as I have stacked the probability in my favor. Trade with the trend otherwise you might find yourself swimming up a water fall. Not good odds of reaching the top.
